We are currently recruiting a Senior Advocacy Office to support our growing advocacy team. The position will provide a broad range of support to advocacy functions across Blue Ventures, and will particularly support the creation and coordination of a global coalition against destructive fishing, facilitating meetings, designing and implementing campaign initiatives and assisting with reporting for funders.

Reporting to the Head of Advocacy, this is a full-time role based in Blue Ventures’ headquarters, with occasional travel to work closely with overseas colleagues, partners, field teams and communities. This role would be suitable for someone who is in their early to mid-career professional development in Advocacy and wishing to take on a greater challenge.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, proactive and highly organised individual, with excellent knowledge of the small-scale fisheries, marine conservation and rural development sectors. You will demonstrate a proven track record of project design and management, as well as exceptional written and oral communications. Ideally, you will have experience of community-based conservation and influencing initiatives.

We are looking for an individual who is open to new ideas and embraces innovation, who can demonstrate experience of building and managing effective working partnerships for conservation and/or development. Assessment of applications will include candidates’ alignment with BV’s core values and mission to support human rights-based approaches to marine conservation and fisheries management.

You will thrive in collegiate and inspiring environments and be able to demonstrate experience of working independently and solving complex problems in challenging situations. Blue Ventures is a fast-growing and mission-driven social enterprise, offering excellent opportunities for further professional development.
