Description  

ADAS is seeking a Senior Ecologist / Principal Ecologist  to join our highly skilled ecology team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a hybrid office and home based position based in Oxford.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as a team with our existing ecologists to ensure quality projects are delivered on time to our clients
  • Managing projects from inception to finalisation
  • Talking to our clients and providing solid technical advice
  • Helping to manage the team to develop our junior ecologists knowledge, skills and confidence
  • Writing of technical reports including but not limited to, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies and Biodiversity Management Plans, Habitat Regulations Assessments Screening reports and protected species reports
  • Technical review and approval of reports
  • Leading on protected species surveys and training junior staff

Person Specification:

  • A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and be commutable to our office
  • One protected species licence (Great Crested Newt, Hazel Dormouse or Bats)
  • Graduate level education in a relevant subject
  • Associate Level CIEEM membership or above
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in ecology, legislation, and survey techniques
  • Experience of managing projects and liaising effectively with clients
  • Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce accurate technical reports.
  • A pro-active attitude to managing your own time, finding solutions and ensuring that work is delivered on time and to the required standards

Salary and Benefits

  • £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
