CARBON MANAGER
PERTH
Along with the very compelling investment drivers for UK forestry the devolved nations are striving towards achieving net zero carbon by 2045/2050 resulting in a significant increase in the interest in existing forestry and afforestation and especially in the field of Natural Capital investments.
Due to this we have an exciting opportunity for a Carbon Manager to join our existing Investment and Business Development division.
Reporting directly to the Investment and Business Development Director, the role will focus on managing and progressing Scottish Woodlands work in relation to the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Carbon code, and providing an advisory role for staff, clients and prospective investors.
Alongside this the role will also provide the opportunity to become involved in development of wider carbon services to clients and external parties and in assisting Scottish Woodlands in their own “Net Zero” goals.
To be successful in this role, you must be self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative and as part of our expanding professional team. You should have demonstrable experience and knowledge of the carbon market and have had consistent exposure to all aspects of the role described above with the confidence to work independently. You should have excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge and understanding of forestry management and afforestation projects.
Applicants should have relevant academic qualifications and hold a current full valid driving licence which is essential for the role.
Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or progressing towards attaining chartered status would be preferred.
Scottish Woodlands offers an attractive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience. This includes pension scheme, life assurance, private health care, company vehicle and the opportunity for equity participation. The company has a unique structure and is 80% owned by staff. Applicants will also be given excellent personal and career development opportunities and will be part of a highly professional and motivated team.
